My childhood cat had been named “Minou”, when rescued and she was responding to Min, so we were stuck with that, although I generally called her Minerva.

My parents had ragdolls named G.G. (for Greta Garbo, because she wanted to be alone) and Quasi (for Quasimodo, because he had a birth defect that caused his head to be cocked to one side).

My partner named Albert A. Cat. He just knew that was The Cat’s name. The “A” is short for “Albert Jadorable Albert” (the J is silent).

Similarly Bartholomew A. Cat (NewCat, ne “Ferris”) and Jonathan A. Cat (NewerCat ne “Snowy” or maybe “Lucipurr”) told him their names. Bart’s middle name is Allen (as in The Flash) because he runs very fast and… nevermind I’ll start crying. Jack’s is Albert.

I also make Christmas puddings and let them age extensively. We had one that aged 2 years (because of pestilence) and it was magnificent (I say with little humility). I feed mine with rum weekly.
