Worked as a roofer many years ago. No safety harnesses. Did shingle and flat (built up asbestos asphalt roofing), and was a “kettle man” cooking the “hot.” Never did slate (my great grandfather did). Worked with a man who worked with him and did our copper/tin. Taking off the old roof is noisy, especially if slate over 1X8 wood underlayment, which would be typical for the Big Pink House at its age. Flat shovels used to get under the top weather tight covering exposing the wood and then covered over with roofing felt (tar paper) and the shingles (or slate) on top. Wait for the new roof installation…different kind of noise. I’m sure Georgia will be creative!!
Nice to see Pucky asleep with Buzzy Mouse and Elvis about to go to sleep with Clucky Chicken while the others clean up. Beatrix had the secret to effective post party cleanup.
I don’t think it’s Burt. The ear notch says it’s Goldie.
