During the plague times I read Golden Age British mysteries, watched documentaries and collected recipes from online sites that popped up in newsfeeds. I recommend Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham and John Dickson Carr. Since you must sit a lot maybe teach yourself (if you don’t already know) crochet, knitting or embroidery. I prefer free embroidery rather than crosstitch but needlepoint on a pre-painted pattern is nice, too. I find I haven’t the patience or visual acuity for counting threads. You might also try learning a language. I work on Japanese and Egyptian hieroglyphs to be able to read them. I am sporadic at that though.
We used the punches as confetti when I was in high school. Are you referring to being dated because Burt mentioned being wired? I am wired to my barely useable printer. Even though it sits right next to my computer, which is a desktop because I refuse to squint at a small screen, it doesn’t acknowledge anything wirelessly. HP printers suck.
I am always more worried about the animals and, yes, irreplaceable treasures than the people. Having lived through many hurricanes and lost a house to fire I know how resilient people are. But, having gone through those things, my heart goes out to them because I also know how hard it is.
I saw a beautiful artificial tree in a FB post the other day. It looked real (as opposed to AI). It was crocheted in granny squares with a lovely muted palette.
Younglings to the rescue in matching purple PJs! I am down with this! an aside..My Killer Roombas tee shirt arrived so I can observe the action in style.
We appreciate your heads up. The least they could have done was post a technical difficulties sign though I guess if they could post that then they could have posted today’s comic.
