   Update: A good sign! I got an email back from the water company that said if I could prove that there was a leak and I’d gotten the repairs done (fortunately I have the bill from the plumber as evidence), they could maybe consider some kind of remediation.

   Uh, yeah, I will do that, absolutely. I’m out of the house until late tonight but I’ll take a picture of the bill and attach that; if they need a scan or a PDF specifically at least I’ve shown willing and I can follow up with that once I get access to a scanner.
