And at times I would suspect (from other peoples’ experiences) incriminating.

From my experience it’s more like “How dare my Subject abandon me, even if only temporarily!”

When I was a young child, many many decades ago, my mother would enlist my younger siblings and I to polish our wooden floors. She’d mop and wax them and after the wax had dried she’d give us diapers (the original cloth kind). We’d sit on them and scoot across the floor, pushing off the walls, furniture, each other, until most of the floor was nice and shiney. All she had to do was some parts around the edges. We had a great time, it kept us busy and out of trouble (not that I ever did anything that was in the least questionable, you understand, but my siblings….) and saved her a lot of work and time she could put into other things. I’d forgotten about that.

My father was a computer systems developer in the 1960s whose specialty was constructing what they called Control Programs for airline reservation systems, financial records systems (credit cards) etc. What we call operating sytems today. One of the things he taught me is that computers are by nature very linear. Possibly parallel linear, but linear. Very effective for linear tasks, but not so much for things like ailment diagnosis if only because of things like you mentioned.

More like tearing it apart from the inside. His actions look like what you’d expect from an agent of a rival or hostile party, spreading chaos and shutdown internally and gutting programs and agencies that help combat our rivals/antagonists externally. And djt handed him the keys.

The concept of zero as a starting point is one of the great inventions out of India. Values can go in one direction and be ‘positive’, or the other and be ‘negative’, so in some ways Zero is the foundation of everything.
