   I sense Irma would be okay with it because she both knows, and likes, Tiff. She will feel empathy for her situation (annoying roomies at school and being alone at home). Plus there is nothing romantic between Tiff, Les or that pile of whiny malt-o-meal she calls a son, Popgun.

   I’m hoping this whole thing leads to an Ox/Tiff pairing. He is the underdog in all this and has mostly flown under the radar.

   Bets is his Bronze Medal. Popgun still wants Tiff, he’s just never had the guts to go for it. And Tiff is his Silver Medal. Luann is the Gold. He would be completely alone if Bets didn’t make all the moves for him.

   First Bets tries to make this all about her, (“Look how much he adores me!”). Today it follows up with her making sure she gets her hooks into reward money. Yup, Pop-Gun has got himself a real winner there. It’s almost as if they are trying to make her unlikeable.

   Karma has visited Pop-Gun and then stayed for tea and crumpets. He was given clear opportunities with both Luann and Tiff, which he blew thanks to the yellow streak down his back. Then our reticulated nerd was bullied into a relationship and saddled with a controlling, inconsiderate fame seeker. Seeee…Karma. That’s his reward for being timid.

   As far as the question as to why they keep dumping on Tiff. I think Tiffany represents someone who Karen truly loathes and she can’t get past it. The longer Karen serves the main creative force and drives the arcs the more obvious it is that she only likes and identifies with Bernice. That is not a situation that is good for the strip.

   I love the idea of a Tiff/Ox pairing (Tox?). I think it’s more likely she will wind up with Les. I would also like to see Luann and TJ. That could be all sorts of fun. Of course the writers seem to be in some sort of paralysis where they don’t want to move anyone not named Bornice forward. So we won’t be seeing any of these ideas.

   Bernice only seems to make an effort when she can use “counseling” to run Luann down. At some point they need to delv into the fact that Bernice is desperately jealous of Luann. The only way she can deal with that is to tear her “friend” down in front of teachers, potential boyfriends, peers and even Luann’s own parents.

   Bernice is a bad person and Luann should in no way be friends with her.

   So the narcissist is calling out Luann for not having her life mapped out at age nineteen. This waste of skin of a “best friend” is probably becoming a counselor just so she can feel superior to someone on this planet.

   If Pop-Gun was written with more initiative and courage he would have gotten Tiff. As Rosa expressed once, she had to make every move. Tiffany would have to do the same. I’m still pulling for Tiff and Les. I would also like to see something interesting like Luann and TJ.

   He’s saving himself for Tiffany…or Luann…or if he can learn mind control, both.

    I guess season 3 of “I Love a Mama’s Boy” will feature the love triangle between Pop-Gun, Bette’s and his mom.
