That’s gonna be Frank, not Luann.

Looks like Gunther was dreaming of happily returning with Bets, when really, it looks like things have gone very wrong between them. Now it’s getting interesting!

But that’s money she earned herself with physical labor, so it means more to her than daddy’s money.

No. I’m a woman & I’m a writer. I depict people’s behaviors from real life (people I know.) Sometimes teen girls are moody & dramatic, sometimes teen boys are, too. One of my favorite books is called She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb. He writes the story, from age 3 to 40, of a girl/teen/woman named Dolores Price as she goes through her life with both normal trials & tribulations & also some really tough situations, & he does it to perfection. In other words, I don’t have a problem with male writers writing for women or female writers writing for men.

Yeah, 2 teens living together was never going to fly (and Gun’s mom is okay with marriage, but not right now – when they’re older.) But I bet they wouldn’t mind Bets staying with them in the house during the holidays. Of course, Gunther & Bets could always get a place of their own . . .

Seems like it’s all or nothing for Gunther.

Oh, Bets, I don’t think Gunther is ready for that . . .

That’s what I was thinking, too. All of her ex-boyfriends cheated on her (she’s only supposed to be like 19 & it sounds like she’s had dozens of exes) & now we learn she doesn’t want to be around her family. Has everyone failed Bets or is she the common denominator here? We’ll see.

Hmmm. If I remember the movie Meatballs correctly (and I do), camp Northstar had kids ranging from ages 6 to 14 (this is actually mentioned by way of assigning the CITs to various cabins.) And that’s all I know of summer camps, so if I was writing a daily comic strip with a reference to summer camp, I’d used that limited knowledge via the movies & take creative liberties with the subject. Cuz it’s a fictional comic strip.
