On daily strips, cartoonists usually draw larger than the strip is printed. If the strip is printed too small (like when newspapers try to squish in as many strips as possible), detail is lost. Many artists just do simpler drawings to compensate. That said, Wiley draws more detail in his dailies than most cartoonists do in their Sunday strips!
Aw, great story! Before the Bearaissance flap, I was cutting all the Nebbish strips out of my Sunday paper to put on the fridge. After my paper canceled “Non Sequitur” I went to this format. Lacking a printer, I can’t put the strips on my fridge…but at least I got to finish the story. Maybe he’ll collect it all in its own little book!
Hey, we knew Paulie was loyal. How many storms has he ridden out on Eddie’s shoulder? Anybody know? A cat that sticks that close to you loves you! Oh, and hey—we got to see his face!
Many cats become flatulent as they get older. Just like people. As for squirrels…the reason you usually don’t see their poop is that they bury it. Wonder if it’s good fertilizer?
You’re kidding, sipsienwa, right? This is an awesome story! Cannot wait to see it all bound together in Wiley’s next book! But then, I also love actual books. Even the ones without pictures or porn.
