Since the strip debuted on March 5th 1979, that makes the principal characters Pisces, and as far as I know it’s not possible to change your sign to Vegetarius just because you say so.
Has it ever occurred to you that if they made that film today, it would make no sense at all because everyone would just get in touch with someone back at the coast on their cellphones?
If I were writing it, I’d have the critters arrange an “escape” for Sophie, followed by leading her back home on her own. We could get plenty of excitement about her abductors thinking she’s just ’run away" like they assumed she did originally and their efforts (or lack thereof, which seems less believable given the way they scooped her up to “rescue” her in the first place) to find her again.
Or we could stretch it out by having her get found by yet more People on her way home, only these new People would have her checked for a chip the way the first ones failed to do.
Problem is, Brad was the one who thought they should have kids and Toni was the one who decided it wouldn’t work. From today’s strip it seems those positions still haven’t really changed. And now they’ve got Shannon, because Brad couldn’t tell Jonah no (mainly because he doesn’t really have a viable alternative to the offer).
