Some years ago when I was working in retail management, we found all kinds of stuff in the shopping mall dumpster behind our store. All of it was discarded from other stores such as: Waldenbooks, Bath & Body Works, etc. It seemed weird to find perfectly good lotion, perfume, soap, books, bookshelves, etc just thrown away, but those are the policies of many mall stores.

My Dad was a math professor for 28 years. He would find this comic strip hilarious!

Some of the Caribou Coffee shops (Caribou is a Minnesota-based coffee chain) have their drinks 50 % off after 5 PM. Why? Most of their locations close at 7 or 8 PM.

I’ve lived in walkable neighborhoods for the better part of 15 years now…not just in the USA, but in a handful of foreign countries (as a digital nomad) as well. Quality of life, mental well-being, and physical fitness goes way up when you can walk to get your errands done, get your grocery shopping completed, and meet up with friends for an evening out.

Sadly, yes. Here in the American Midwest, the phrase so many use is, “How’s it goin’?”

Some of us walk outside year round, even if it is -10 F ( -23 C). Nope, it’s not too cold if you dress for the weather, and dress in layers. The fresh air is good for mind, body, and soul.

‘Napkin’ in British English is what Americans would call a ‘maxi pad’, something to be used during her monthly period. They also use the word ‘towels’ to imply maxi pads, as well. In British English, if you wanted a dinner napkin, it would be ‘serviette’.

Keep walking, don’t give up! With a diet change and walking, I dropped just over 100 lbs (45 kgs). You can do it !

My Dad said, “Don’t be a stupe and a ninny. When are you going to get married again so I can stop worrying about you?” And since Dad died, I’ve completed two college degrees and lived in three countries. None, of which, required a husband : )
