    My objection to them is you often have an employee standing there watching you to ensure you scan everything. Then at some stores your cart get checked as you leave to make sure you aren’t stealing anything. If stores, like Wal-Mart have determined the public can’t be trusted then management needs to eliminate self check out and bring back more cashiers. On a side note, I’ve asked for assistance a couple of times and the person overseeing the self checkout line hasn’t had a clue about how to look up a price, reset a frozen scanner, or how to purchase gift cards where you have to tap in the amount at purchase.

    If I remember right at the museum in Hyde Park they had an interview with Eleanor after FDR died and she said whenever Fala heard sirens he ran to the door and waited for FDR to come through the door.
