Good point. And too true! I also have first-hand accounts of friends being screwed over in business by the prez in his former life. I also have “conservative” friends today who’ve been programmed to hate the man for false reasons. Fine people, they were, but TV done did them in.

Just turned 72, and tonight I’m heading out for weekend of hiking/camping on the Appalachian Trail in PA. Half a case of beer oughta do it.

No TV?? I gave it up on June 6, 1975 and never looked back. Never saw Seinfeld, Cops, Friends, Love Boat etc. Instead, I have a life. AND I wasn’t programmed to hate Trump (and didn’t vote for him anyhow).

Yes — by pointing out her mistakes and offering alternatives (the latter being my point).

Trashing the messenger and not the message? Logical fallacy, sir. Ma’am. Whatever.

Thanks for the considered response. You’re very different from many of the commenters here! To my mind, the only role for government is to protect the rights and property of the citizens. Anything else devolves into a squabble among special interests over pieces of the tax pie. “Weak” and “strong” are relative terms that are subject to subjective definition. Using the power of government to enforce your decision—and using money taken from taxpayers at gunpoint—is just plain wrong on multiple levels. Those sorts of decisions are best made by society, not by government. There’s a good book on how to separate society and state, “Atlas Snubbed.” I recommend you check it out. Thanks again for being reasonable.

Pardon me, but gas is a LOT cheaper today. Consider this: In 1964 gas was about $0.25/gal. Also in 1964, quarters were silver. One silver quarter bought one gallon of gas. But today, that silver quarter is worth about $7. So the price of gas hasn’t gone up… The value of your money has gone down. Gas is currently on sale at half price.

You say “A Libertarian is just a Republican who won’t admit it.” You’re half right. Republicans agree with us Libertarians on economic freedom issues but not personal freedom issues. Democrats agree with us on personal freedom issues, but not economic freedom issues. So we Libs are the best of both worlds: We support personal freedom AND economic freedom.

Sorry, I missed your point. Seriously. I thought we were talking about how TDS was pretty muted for a while here. How did you get into wishful thinking?
