I have a Logitech G19 that I’ve used for most of a decade through a few different computers. It’s an average keyboard but its gimmick is that it has a little screen at the top. It was supposed to “revolutionize gaming” by giving you another HUD, but only a couple games ever used it. I have it hooked up to a hardware monitor program I found so I can always see my memory usage, utilization percentage, and component temperatures. Among a couple other things.
I’m honestly surprised there was enough “good side” of Calvin to get a copy out of. I figure it would be like trying to enhance one of those super grainy black and white 90s security camera photos.
That’s the truth. It turns out that humans are actually one of the only creatures built to run over long distances. I remember reading a story about a town in America that has a marathon race between a man and a guy riding a horse. The dude running by himself won pretty handily. I think they turned it into a recurring festival.
Speaking of that, have they done the “bubblegum arc” yet? Calvin getting super into competitive bubblegum chewing for a few strips are some of my favorite.
I’m sure it’s a coincidence but I love how the last “S” in the second panel has little dots above and below it to make it look like “Moron$” if you look at it quickly.
I’d enjoy a few episodes as a spin-off from Susie’s point of view. Wonder if she has the same relationship with Mr. Bun that Calvin has with Hobbes? Even if not just her being a relatively normal kid dealing with “that crazy boy down the street” would make for a good few laughs.
I’d be lying if I said that I haven’t occasionally “licked the stamp and sent it” on days when the snow isn’t quite bad enough to justify getting up early to clear it off before work, but still bad enough the plows came by and backed up a hump of snow at the end of the driveway.
There was a fairly big one in certain circles around the start of COVID. One of America’s few remaining shipyards had their workers call a strike. Their concerns ranged from what I found to be pretty reasonable (more worker protections to prevent disease spread) to some I found more questionable (they opposed a new policy by the shipyard that they would call in external contractors to get work that was behind schedule back on track).
