    It’s been a teen thing for some time to wear pajama pants as regular street wear, though not an entire set of pajamas.

    We usually didn’t – other characters delivered the punchline by replying to her – but once in a while, she did. Usually something forceful and assertive. We bought every collection as it was published when I was growing up, and as a family it became a Christmas tradition to buy them “for Dad” (but really for everyone).

    Now I remember who Mrs. Palmer reminds me of – some of the characters that were created by the great British cartoonist Giles. Mrs. Palmer has a resemblance to his iconic Grandma, but the eyes behind the glasses look more like those of Auntie Vera’s perpetually anxious baby.

    You are so right Durak – can’t say it enough times. Libraries need to be protected so they can continue to support our communities in all the many ways they do.
