   @phobos I have personal experience of good coming from my left wing voting. For years I had no healthcare, After Obama/Biden I got medi-cal. I got cancer and I would personally be dead by now without it.

   Why not deliberately compose the court always of 50%/50% D and R or conservative/liberal. That would be fair and one side would always have to convince the other to do anything. Checks and balances kind of thing. I personally would be happier with all liberals all the time but I must admit that would not be fair or democratic. The SC did their best work when numbers were near even (or slightly biased in our favor ;-) ).
