   Aw, poor kitty. My son’s first cat had diabetes and he had to give her insulin shots. He had to give the second one treatments with a nebulizer for its breathing problems. The third cat lived the longest and died of natural causes.

   Their yard looks like our yard—and yes, the grass underneath the snow is still green, as evidenced by the paths I shoveled for Newton, each path leading one of his favored spots.

   Same here! And I think girls who did it had to have pretty long hair to make it work. I heard that some girls rolled their wet hair in empty cans from frozen orange juice to tame their curls—it must have taken hours to dry.

    My dad never did laundry but he was a great cook. He was a firefighter and whenever he was on duty at the fire house, the guys asked him to cook for them. The guys in our immediate and extended family cook, too, with one exception—my daughter is a chef, so my son-in-law does clean-up!
