   My sister and brother-in-law have grandkids and catch everything the grandkids bring home!! Illness in early December spread from one child in daycare to three in grade school to parents to one aunt and then to the grandparents. It took so long for everyone to get over the illnesses they just celebrated Christmas early this month. But now the kids are back in school . . . so the cycle will likely begin again.

   Once a child goes to school, they get everything and take it home. A simple cold can go around and around for weeks..

   So many great things in today’s strip! Red correctly says “may Ruby” instead of “can Ruby” and Rover looks very happy anticipating her visit. It’s a holiday, yet Mom is working (of course) and OMG, an avocado green washer and dryer—green and harvest gold were popular colors for appliances back then!

   So cute! Love Rover’s happy expression when he delivers the carrot to Red. But why is Red all blue when he’s talking to Rover?

    I thought Red considered Rover his best friend—but Rover seems pretty happy with Red’s relationship with Ruby, so Red now has two best friends. Everyone wins!
