I loved the headlines on the newspaper! Happy National Cartoonists Day, everyone! (I read through previous comments and saw I’m not the first one to comment, but this deserves to be out front, not buried in the replies.)
I think it’s just artistic license. The 5 bright stars between the Moon and the comet could be Cassiopeia’s chair, except that the Moon is never north of that constellation. I don’t see Orion or Taurus or any of the other constellations mentioned, and the sky view is too narrow in this picture to see both of them.
It’s a beautiful panel, though! I do love the artwork!
Happy Thanksgiving, Georgia and all BCN readers! Thank you, Georgia, for the heartwarming, sweet, funny cartoons with which you bless us every day! (I missed you terribly while the site was down! I’m grateful to the GoComics folks for their hard work!)
My husband, a Minnesotan with German roots, always wants to make split pea soup with the leftover ham bone and chunks. I’d say the split pea soup tradition is more widespread than New England, and goes along the upper Midwest.
Say, you folks who like to talk about food should come over to https://forums.egullet.org/! It’s the website of the nonprofit Society for Culinary Arts and Letters. As with GoComics, you can read without being a member but you have to join and sign in to comment. As with GoComics, there is a member agreement but membership is free. (There are also a lot of BCN lovers there, but we keep the discussions focused on food and drink, not pets, not politics, not religion…)
I hope Ora Zella never grows up!
