Don’t worry Gene and Donna. Your son had been 9-years-old since the start of this comic and never ages, which means you two will never get any older than you are now.
Are you new to this comic? There have been multiple comics set in winter where Kevin wears a coat with long sleeves and trousers instead of shorts. Same for Miles.
As already pointed out by HappyDog above, this comic has changed significantly since it started. It already got pretty weird when the author decided to introduce supernatural stuff in what up until then was a grounded slice-of-life comic. Think the living mascot costumes, Old Jingles the ice cream truck, the haunted house, mutant Kevin, and the kid-supervillains that turned the whole neighborhood into zombies. Compared to that, this latest arc was actually a step back to a more realistic setting.
I’m wondering; will this arc end with Kevin back in his regular class with Miles? Or will this arc introduce a permanent change in the status quo with Kevin attending special education?
Miles seems to forget one important thing: students don’t determine who goes to S.E. or not. The teachers do. Even if they get Kevin out of that class, Mrs. Campbell would just send him back.
What about that creepy guy in the haunted house from the Halloween arc of October 2023? Sure, he had no fangs, but otherwise he looked like a vampire to me.
