I know a fellow that meets this description. Sadly he committed suicide this summer. He managed to run off everyone that wanted to befriend him. He was in his 60s. All ever talked about was his failures in life and who he resented.
The Washington State Republican party wrote a policy platform that openly states that they oppose democracy. They want to remove the word democracy from the state Constitution.
The problem is that most white folks fear “liberty and justice for all” and “equal protection under the law”. They also fear equality will mean getting treated the way black and brown people are treated today, never mind the past.
White folks have all been beneficiaries of our original sin of white racism. No matter what they have been through it would have been harder and more dangerous if they had to live through it while black or native American.
Racism was built into the macro-economics of the nation. Racism makes sure that the 99% will not make common cause against the 1%, to have more equitable distribution of the nation’s wealth..
We should eliminate the racist elements in our Constitution. Those racist elements include the Electoral College, the distribution of Congressional and Senatorial seats in Congress. We should also end gerrymandering. Racial profiling should be illegal.
They should be one state. Combined they have fewer residents than either D.C. or Puerto Rico.
