    Your Mother is correct, even now. When you do not know your audience you are supposed to use the male of the word or male pronoun. Here in Luke 2:14 good will toward men, the word men in the Greek is anthropos meaning Mankind, the species Man, of which Women are a part. Most of the time in the New Testament the word Man refers to Mankind which includes Women, not Men specifically.

    Where we live if you blow or rake anything into the street you may be fined. Must go into the organics bin which the city picks up weekly or your own compost bin.

    I worked with my Dad in his restaurant (English Canada) off and on and boxes of frozen french fries we received were labelled “pommes de terre frites” on the french side. He said potato, was pommes de terre in french meaning apples of the earth. Don’t know if this is helpful.

    We used to use alcohol free beer in our slug traps. I say used to because it was so effective, no more slugs.

    Two things noticed about prescription meds.

    1. I noticed that for the ones I am taking and have taken the side effects are mostly the same as the symptoms of what I’m taking them for. So how do I know which is which? The problem or the med?

    2. I wanted to add a herbal tea to my med load. I went to the pharmacy I regularly use and asked the Pharmacist about it. He had time and brought down two about 5 inch thick volumes of drug interactions and we began to look up every drug and matched it to all the herbs in the tea. He concluded that according to the books there “shouldn’t be a reaction” but it was up to me – use them or not. Armed with this information I took the tea and had no reaction.

    And, I found a drug interaction checker website which I thought was pretty good. You key in two drugs and it returns a result.

    “I…I have something in my eye…” I think its called sentiment. I get it in my eye too.
