I knew a number of musicians that played in that band, particularly a trombone player. He was definitely top-notch. But I too have made jokes about the silly mechanical rinky-tink “jazz” style of their music, and as a musician, have in the past jokingly imitated that style to get a laugh.
Seems that you don’t understand bureaucracy. You can’t just go against the rules, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. Watch the move, Brazil, to see a scary example of bureaucracy. BTW, I have worked in the Fed. Govt. for 12 years, and I learned the hard way you can’t go against the rules. I had major anxiety problems about 7 years ago because of trying to deal with those rules to do “the right thing.” Go glad I am about to retire. And also fortunate for MYSELF, I gave up trying to fight bureaucracy on the job.
Assuming that earth’s radius is 6371 kilometers (6,371,000 meters), and there is no air (causing friction), if a hole is made from the earth’s surface to the center, the time to get to the center from the surface is t = (2h/g), or t – √(2*6,371,000meters)/9.8meters/second) = 1,140 seconds = 19 minutes. However, even if a hole were cut to the center, it would probably have air (friction). Also, g (gravity) would not be a constant value. It would become less and practically go to zero as it reaches the center, assuming gravity is caused by the ENTIRE mass of the earth.
At the risk of sounding naive or stupid, can someone explain what Jason means by any of his comments, where he begins with the words, “one time” and ends with a number of accomplishments plus 1 as seen in the comic?
I do find it interesting that scientists way in the past who believed in flat earth, still managed to use their model to still accurately predict the position of the stars, moon and sun, and predict the timing of sun and moon eclipses.
Not that you touched upon it, but regarding the notion that cruise ships don’t fall off a flat earth shows total lack of knowledge of the flat earth model. If you are going to argue against bad science, you should not use bad science to do it. It will only strengthen the believers in bad science.
