“Back in my day”, it was a VW and we called it a “punch buggy” quickly followed by a punch in the arm. Who in their right mind thought that was fun? Actually, we did, and we laughed like ninnies afterwards.

Hi Croc; I think you just made my point for me. Thanks.

Age is largely attitude and perception. We all have limitations at every age, its how we deal with them that counts, and often that’s how others view and understand us. I know people in their 50’s (or less) who are ready to die and get it over with. I know people in their 70’s (and more) who can’t wait to get up in the morning. We ride with a Christian motorcycle group, are active in our church, and love to travel. Health-wise? Well, once you get past the cancer, replaced joints, arthritis, hospitalizations, etc., we’re doing pretty well (thanks for asking).I advise everyone before entering retirement, you retire TO something, not FROM something. Enjoy your life my friends, its the only one you’ll get.

I can’t believe Sterling is doing something as kid-like as catching snowflakes with his tongue. Maybe there’s hope for him yet.

I’m always amazed how quickly people respond to a comic strip by being nasty and name-calling anyone who disagrees with them. We’re Americans and we’ll get through whatever comes to us, we always have. Please think twice about what you post on a comic strip. We all come here to get a laugh.

My personal favorite was the one where the writer’s son went through a divorce and she described it as a “wonderful opportunity for him to pursue alternate directions in his life.”

What about your sister Pearl? Can’t you spend the day with her?

As a side note: we always asked the family for Thanksgiving. Every other holiday they could spend somewhere else as long as we all got together on Thanksgiving. That worked for quite a few years, until the grandkids started having kids and we ran out of room. Now we have family picnics with plenty of room outside.

While I agree with the comments, we used to have a small business. When a charge was contested by the customer we had to supply a copy of the signed receipt or the card company would find against us and refund their money. BTW: It was always that the customer forgot their purchase with us, the card company eventually cleared the transaction.

Not sure where this arc is coming from, or going to. It appears we’re not in Arlo’s world anymore but in JJ’s “real” world. I, for one, can’t wait to see where he takes us on this personal journey. For sure many of us can identify because we share a similar past.
