Or, your father who had a twenty year career in the military. I’m in the same generation as you and when I started growing my hair “longer” my Dad would flip out!

Hmmm … an analogy to the voters who have elected TheOrangeShitGoblin in America?

And, he had zero security around his house for many, many years. He would casually walk the sidewalks and streets near his house with friends.
Unlike some (Zuck)who bought their neighborhood and surrounded it with a privacy fence or stole native Hawaiian land to build his compound. Truly a spoiled, uber-rich a$$hole with no socially redeeming features …. Much like old Leon Musk!

Much of my career was spent working for a subsidiary of a giant Japanese electronics firm. They came to market with their cell phones in the late ‘80s and, as employees, we got huge discounts on the hardware but that did nothing to reduce the “airtime minutes” the cell carriers charged! My first carrier was AT&T and it was about $2.25 per minute – no partial minutes allowed on top of the monthly account fee. AT&T merged with someone else and became Cingular and the rates came down a little but it was still crazy expensive and not terribly reliable.
I can’t say I miss those bag phones and high rates.

I met Gov. Carter at a Habitat for Humanity in Philadelphia in the mid-70s. He had announced his run, but he was still donating his time and effort to helping the poor. I was impressed by his genuineness and humanity. Turns out, nearly 50 years later, he is the ONLY person in politics that I ever worked for to get him elected.
RIP, President Carter!

Only thing good on Ice is spikes!
Thiokol used to make track-based vehicles that had spikes in the tracks. Was truly unique and very maneuverable no matter snow or ice. Sometimes I do miss my youth and things we had back then.

But … according to published studies (I believe it was in a recent Wall Street Journal) car buyers are starting to scale down from the big SUV’s and get into smaller SUVs / Crossovers as well as sedans.
It seems the old adage is true: “What goes around comes around.
I’ve always been a coupé or hatchback owner. Coupés are almost extinct in this day and age but there is still hope for their rebirth.
“ Dementia Joe O’Biden …”. Really? What about your boy, “TheDementiaOrangeShitGoblin” and his Band of “KnowNothingsButSuckingOffCheetos?”
You really have a skewed vision of reality!
