   that kid needs to learn guy talk….had to explain this to my grandson….we only use the basic color names. Fancy is saying dark blue or light blue.

   Perception is reality. The youth live in an ideal world and not the real world. Tell this to my 2 college age sons all the time. One gets it….paid internship after his freshman year and numerous scholarships and dean list both semesters. The one that doesn’t…about to start his final year of college and still isn’t ready to go out into the world.

   Of course. Raised 2 sons with tough love….you can be a tough and caring parent. My parenting was grounded in reality and not the fantasy world that some folks parent in. The real world is tough and unforgiving if you’re not prepared. People like to pretend the world is fair and caring, but reality is quite different. Sadly, kids are not being raised to deal with adversity, rather they’re being raised to avoid it. But it’s unavoidable and when they become adults, they can’t cope with it.

   Why I like the old ways. Didn’t raise a bunch of sensitive victims. Observe nature….what we consider cold and uncaring is actually crucial for survival. We’re headed in the wrong direction.
