   Here in Louisiana there were a lot of fire ants and boy do they hurt when they sting you. The only good thing about fire ants is they reduce the population of ticks. I am not sure if they eat them or just sting them to death but I have not had a tick on me in years and I used to get them quite often. Now LSU or somebody has come up with a tiny little fly that lays their eggs in the head of a fire ant. That destroys the fire ant and reduces the population of the fire ants. It’s a winning situation for us humans and especially those of us that garden a lot.

   That’s a great answer. I was also born when he was president. We just don’t have to tell them which term he was serving at that time.

   I do remember rolling down grassy hills. She’s right, that was so much fun. It didn’t take much to entertain ourselves in those days. I wonder how many remember building frog houses from wet sand soon after a good rain? We used our feet to form it then eased the foot out and it would stay until my brother came along and stomped it.

   There is a lot to be said for a carefree life with no clocks to punch, flower gardens to work in if you want to, no worries, no stress, o cafe to slave away in. The kids are a nice place to visit but this sounds like drudgery to me, something that could ruin retirement that they have worked for all their lives. I would book a plane home if it were me and I would stay there.

   I was never good at catching fish. When we took our 3 boys out in a boat, I usually just baited their hook and took their fish off the hook for them. I was a whiz bang at cooking their fish and making fish gravy to sop up with my cathead biscuits though. We each had our jobs. The boy’s job was to enjoy fishing and they did that very well.

    Here in Northeast Louisiana we get damage from hurricanes on occasion but nothing like they do in South Louisiana. We do get tornados often.
