    These “rigorous background checks” and “extremely strict” regulations that you speak of don’t seem to be very effective in keeping military grade weapons out of the hands of bad actors.

    But any attempt to tighten these rules up results in a lot of hysterical screaming and hand wringing from right-wingers who are scared their guns are going to be taken away.
