   I think this is a time when it’s okay to awaken a parent for this. Mom or dad. You’re old enough to raise a kid, you’re old enough to be mature about it. I do like the implication that her friend is yelling so loudly on the phone that mom might hear.

   Not saying Gordo shouldn’t take the truck, but the dad is not an okay guy. He was terrible to Gordo when he was younger. You can’t punch a puppy and give it a treat.

   Glad to see Elly rocking the middle aged woman’s formal look here. Maybe she’s stopped worrying about aging and just rolling with it now. Interesting that Brian’s the only guy without a jacket. Maybe that’s his true source of horror, rather than who gets the next wedding.

   I like that Liz has April behind her when the demon gull comes careening towards them.

   They have each other and a business they both like that serves the community well. So in a way, it is everything. Also the shadows make it looks like Tracey has a bat wing in the second panel. That looks cool. I wish Tracey always had bat wings and it was never commented on or explained.

   I remember being that age, you start to realize you’re getting older and some of your peers might be getting married/having kids soon. So maybe Brian’s realizing that a bit? Hence the surprise. These days people that age just look like kids to me, though. Besides, he could always go adventuring with Tracey. Having your spouse be your friend is important. Anyway, Gordo’s a good dude. He might be in a role that some people whose minds never left the 50s consider “traditional”, but then you remember he’s got a gay friend and his father’s abuse was portrayed as bad, not how things should be. If more people in the 50’s had his mindset, we’d probably have a more progressive world.

   Always hated it when adults did that when I was that age. I swore to always talk to kids normally, and to this day, I do. Even babies won’t get “baby talk” from me. Besides, getting in your face like that is annoying, and to someone that size, rather intimidating! Let’s get some Oat Zaps, they’re 100% nutrition free.

   I like the Christmas decorations that haven’t been put away, and that blobby cowboy clown…thing next to them.

   Always liked Gordo, and the idea that not everyone has to be in college to be successful. I hate his dad and I hope he gets eaten by a moose.

    last panel makes it look like Mike’s addressing the readers directly. A nice touch.
