    My father, who was a salesman (which you will see later is a highly important part of the story), smoked and drank heavily and was overweight all of his life and lived to the ripe old age of 67. Everyone that I knew smoked and drank. Was there heart attacks and lung cancer? Yes, but very few cases in the entire state and country — you can find the statistics online even though I won’t tell you what state and country I live in. Now there is a lot of heart attacks and lung cancer which makes me wonder: maybe not smoking, drinking in moderation and maintaining a healthy weight CAUSE heart attacks and lung cancer.
