Nuance doesn’t sell papers or clicks and views these days, so the media has to wring every drop they can get out of bashing and fear mongering a good President out of office.

I like the “Book of Bibi”. Has a nice, nonsensical roll off the tongue, doesn’t it?

Precisely. I’ve given the Washington Post more than an ear full, today. Not a single headline about Dumpty’s lies, no one calling for a convicted felon and serial rapist to step down, but goodness forbid Biden have a rotten night and suddenly everyone says they’ve been “had” by the Democratic establishment. My favorite is the new MAGAt talking point that Jill isn’t really supporting her husband, she just likes the perks of being First Lady too much to give them up and that they’re being arrogant and selfish staying in the race. They’re even accusing her of “elder abuse” for supposedly pushing him to continue running. It’s absolutely insane.

For just this once Jack’s right and the reference is apt. Cronkite was the most capable journalist of his time but tv viewers wanted someone younger and more “hip”. He was forced out just like they’re trying to force Biden out. History repeats itself.

Honestly, I’m confounded that this was not the focus in the media, this morning. Certainly, the President did stumble at first, but Dumpty told whoppers without remorse. That should be the headline all over the country, today.

According to their own “decision” that would be considered a bribe, but payment afterwards is an acceptable gratuity. Go figure,

The fast food wrappers seem to be missing, too. I expect at least a KFC bucket or something.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? We have been and continue to be incredibly obtuse while the rest of the developed world “gets it”. I marvel at Japan’s Shinkansen and the way sleeper trains are resurrecting in Europe and wonder to myself when we will wake the hell up.

There are compounded problems with this argument, though. Most places in the US do not have any, much less robust, public transit systems, and jobs are too far away to walk or bike (I live in a bedroom community of DC and we don’t even have mass transit with the nearest Metro station over 20 miles away). The problem is multi-layered and will take a long time and cost significant amounts of money and will to solve requiring the complete transformation of our society. Of course we must do this, but it will not happen overnight.
