you’re splitting hairs. “assault rifles”, bump stocks being used- however you want to define them. my point is why does the average person need weapons that can take so many lives so quickly. if you want to use these weapons, go join the military and hunt terrorists.
i am not a weapons expert, but i would say the type of weapons that stephen paddock, the las vegas mass shooter, used to take the lives of 60 people in ten minutes would qualify as assault rifles. i just don’t think there is any reason for average citizens to own these weapons.
when did i say the 2A should not apply? i was simply pointing out the fact that we now have weapons that make any individual a one man army capable of doing damage on a massive scale. i know there are a lot of people out there who would like to see some common sense regulation.
i totally agree with you. if these so called constitutional “originalists” are so into the 2A, then they can have all the flintlock rifles they want. mass shootings would be a lot more difficult if it took a minute to reload after every shot.
