    In the 1990s they were $80. Our family agreement was we had to save up half before Christmas/birthday. But I also remember people crafting some of their own accessories and it was not hard to find non-branded items for 18" dolls.

    The “extra” day might also arise out of that melding, as Nov 1 is All Saints Day and Nov 2 is All Souls, which in some parts of the world are also observed by spending time with the dead by cleaning and repairing graves, covering them with candles and flowers, and which had older traditions of sharing meals with the spirits who could return during the change of seasons.

    For the all the mansplainers here: Women know they are not conflict free. However, a great deal of that conflict does not involve beating, killing or SA, or being “collateral damage” of another’s conflict.

    Different countries, different cultures. A lot of places are only 5 day, including many that rank much higher than the US, so both systems can work. Also “Saturday school” does exist in the US, but it tends to be foreign language schools, where they exist.

    Wallace has a stem of a plant we’ve seen before in the strip (I don’t know the name, it’s not a cattail or sea oat with that long leaf). Spud might have a yo-yo.
