    I don’t think, Qu’ran and Bible would really cause problems between Muslim and christians (and Jews, of course).The Hadith, the written traditions of the muslims are in my opinion the promlem. They also include the sharia, the muslim laws.

    Measuring from the base, deep in the sea, the Mauna Kea could be considered as the “highest” mountain. Measured from the center of the Earth it would be a mountain near the equator, somewhere in middle America. The Earth ain’t a sphere, it’s a bit shorter from pole to pole than the equator. It’s not much, about 20 miles, but enough to have influence on the height of mountains.Depends. In normal cases, the height is measured from sea level, but even diffenrent countries use different sea levels.

    I think of a possible anarchy or tyranny. So far, our way of life still can be called "civilisised. “Right of the strongest” comes to my mind.

    I don’t know the system used in the USA, I live in Germany. But for Ibuprofen you don’t need a prescription, and you pay about 3 to 5 €. If you have a doctors prescription, you pay only a part of the real costs, most is payed by the health insurance.

    Anyway, Dubai (UAR) should better be prepared for oil drill hole fires. Wildfires are not very likely as long sand doesn’t burn.

    Yes, and a wildfire every now and then is normal and even necessary. But human influence in the nature is still growing.

    Hm – according to the sign, it should be the Mt. Everest (eventhough there are two other summits that could be considered as the highest mountains). In the vicinity, everthing should be white, not only the caps of the mountains.Must be sometime in the future.
