“The Democratic Politburo”? Need I remind you of the numerous attempts by the Republicans and their supporters to change the rules and procedures regarding legislation in Ohio so they could try to enact Abortion Laws favourable to their opinions and not the actual will of the people? Oh, and by the way, let us not forget that when they lost after said numerous attempts, they tried to blame their loss on “dark money from outside the state” – something they, themselves, were guilty of!
If you fear having your vote dismissed, then be wary of the Republicans – especially if you belong to one or more of certain demographics and/or live in certain areas cough Deep South cough.
I work for a unionized company and our union will definitely fight for an employee if (s)he feels they were unfairly terminated. The only problem is there has been the occasional employee who was fired with justification and got their job back with the union’s help – much to the rest of our chagrin.
It sounds like the company was also doing a little bit of fear-mongering as well – in effect, using different tactics to scare some employees into not voting for the union. A company my mother worked for tried the same thing until they were told, in no uncertain terms, that what they were doing was highly illegal. And, by the way, the union got in.
My idea on summer reading is the same as my idea on homework; namely: school is supposed to prepare student for the “real world” (a job, maybe a family and children, etc.) right? Well, how many people are expected to deal with work-related activities when they aren’t actually at work? If “school=real world”, then there shouldn’t be any homework or summer reading right?
If the right gives to charities, chances are the charities are pro-evangelical Christian and/or anti-pro-choice.
