I have a sinking feeling that this is going to open up a whole new “what did Crank burn/blow up/destroy with fire” avenue for Batty…

But Bets doesn’t compliment him; she controls him. Big difference.

My son goes to college 8 hours away, so there are no weekend visits, with or without laundry. When he came home for Spring Break his freshman year, he decided to do laundry there a few days before he came home, so that he would get back to clean clothes that were already put away. He did a quick load of his sheets and towels the night before, so he also returned to clean sheets and towels, etc. Good thing, because he didn’t go back that time due to COVID. All those kids who left wet towels hanging, baskets full of dirty clothes, etc…it wasn’t fun for them to go back to that after 3+ months. He decided that doing laundry before he comes home and including what little he wore after that, with whatever other clothes he packed was what he would always do when he came home.

But she does have other places to stay, and turned them down.

Thing is, Bets had options she chose not to use. She wanted to prove a point with Irma. It’s not like she’s homeless with no other options. She just wanted her way.

And there’s another party who actually lives there…LES. Even if Al and Irma are ok with it, if Les is not happy with Bets moving in, then she needs to find her own place. The agreement was for Les and Gunther to live there, period. If Gunther wants to live with Bets, they are free to find their own place; I think that’s the message Irma is sending.

She can spend all the time with him that she wants, if they’re willing to move out and pay their own way. Otherwise, Irma and Al have the right to set any rules they want. They’re not forcing either of them to stay there., but they do expect their house rules to be followed.

But they are living on her property, and breaking rules. If they want to live their own lives, then they need to get their own place. Irma and Al have every right to set rules, even if they charged rent. And frankly, their current living situation wouldn’t fly in many places, parent-owned or not. Many apartments, especially those renting to college students, have strict rules on how long a non-tenant can stay. I know my kids’ apartments right off campus have those rules.
As long as Luann is willing to leave it at that, which she probably wouldn’t. She’d still push.
