My youngest foster brother was the Well Actually Kid in our bunch. He even SOUNDS like all of those stereotypical know-it-all nerds in movies and TV shows. He hated it when we pointed it out the first time. Didn’t stop him from doing it though.

In my foster home, Thanksgiving was less about the pilgrims and more about what we are thankful for that particular year. I think that’s the thing about Thanksgiving: it could be about so much more than its bloody origins. Hell, it might even inspire good in folks like it did with my foster family!
