“Everyone knows what everyone else is doing … unless they’re setting fire to a set of stairs in the middle of the night in order to protest a makeshift bookstore carrying a book that isn’t approved for sale at a school in a neighboring town. Then, nobody knows. Not the police, not us.”
Tom has posted strips before where Ed conducted his job in the manner of some other business, such as Amazon or an airline. It’s in the archives. I’d go find the airlines one but it’s not like anyone bothers to look or remember.
The point is that what you wrote is all that Tom needed to do here, and he could have had his week of harmlessly lame strips as well as feature the actual Crankshaft characters in the Crankshaft comic strip. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.
It would have been better if Crankshaft were in them, particularly given that the week’s strips featured bus drivers. There’s no reason that he couldn’t have been here today.
I’m an Enrolled Agent and I’ve been doing work in the income tax field for the past twenty years. I’m looking to get a CPA next. We don’t have much downtime except for these few weeks between October 15 and the new year.
My wife and I recently went to Japan for a week. It was my second trip there this year. I study Japanese in my downtime. I don’t think I’ll have that luxury in the future, especially if I’m going to spend most of my time on CPA study and my actual job.
I don’t interact with my neighbors. I’ve lived in this same residence for fifteen years and I still don’t know the names of the family directly south of me. Everyone here is quiet and what they do otherwise is none of my business.
That’s nice. Where’s Crankshaft?
