I doubt Joe will delay calling out the National Guard to regain control, if it is the capital that is attacked again. Nor would most governors, even in red states. I’d hate to see it, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it were widespread, well-organized, and takes a few weeks to overcome.

Trump may have answered extemporaneously and comprehensively, but his answer contained the lies he has been repeating for eight years in some cases. Just because his lies are well-rehearsed does not make them any less false.

Afghanistan withdrawal was negotiated and planned by Trump’s team. Biden’s fault was trusting that they actually knew what they were doing. (For one thing, I’d guess Trump’s folks just assumed they would never grant asylum to all those brown-skinned Afghani folks who helped us at great risk to themselves and their families, in spite of promises to the contrary. Much of the chaos was from those promised asylum and not included in Trump’s plan.)

Yes, those marines (?) died on Biden’s watch, and he should have remembered that, but I blame Trump.

    SCOTUS trimming big gov down

If you think judges will be better able to consider technical issues than professionals hired by government agencies, then you’ve got lots to celebrate. If you were looking to get businesses out from under legitimate regulation, even if it threatens the health and safety of everyone else, you’ll be ecstatic.

he would not get the job

If he were applying to be sports reporter on TV, sure, no debate (:p). If you wanted someone with experience and leadership and integrity, you could certainly do a lot worse. Of course, he is way past retirement age, so you could also justify not hiring him as kindness.

Or, maybe it’s either Joe or the destruction of our American republic. I guess some businesses do okay in Hungary; I don’t think the middle class is doing so well. But they can’t say much, since Oban controls the media and political parties. Maybe that’s how you want our country to look …

OK, just how is President Trump going to overturn democracy?

Just read the Project 2025 book from the Heritage Foundation.

The “ides” of November would be the 13th. Yeah, I have to look it up, it doesn’t make much sense to me either.

So refreshing to see people relying on facts in their arguments.

It’s more likely to be a TikTok performance is better. (Sigh) But that’s the country we live in. Maybe you can figure out how to change that? I haven’t been able to…

The Right Wing media are too good at painting the “other” side as radical-left extremists. Some midwest governors have been doing a fair job against that, proving they care about people (and the middle class in particular) but it will be harder to translate that skill to a national stage. Not saying Newsom can do better, just that a random “midwest” governor isn’t guaranteed to be able to convey that message, in the few weeks left before November.
