   Unfortunately, you can teach a person the correct to use something and actually they up using it the way they want. You bet your bottom dollar he knew it was loaded. The young man (he is going to be trialed like a man) involved didn’t care. He took what ever knowledge he was given and shot the targets he wanted to. In most these cases it has little to do about being taught right. On the other had yes, if one is going to be given or have easy access to a rifle, gun, or whatever they should be taught all you said above and even more (such as the proper way to clean one). We need a common sense party that is given an ability to get there message out. Unfortunately, I hold small hope that can happen in America as it is now. Just sad every time this type of event is brought to our attention.

   It is going to be hard on that “dad” if they have proof that (as already reported) in May 2023 he told investigators he had hunting guns in the home, but his son did not have unsupervised access to them. Then later in December 2023 purchased the AR platform-style rifle used in the shooting as a holiday present for his son. If I knew my son had been accused of a propensity to view arson fires when he was 13. , I would not buy him a flame thrower, even if I didn’t think that was true. If I did and he committed arson I would expect to be held somewhat responsible in what he had done at the tender age of 14. Just saying. And if my son was one of the ones who had died in the murdering rampage done by his son I would want all associated with the weapon being available for him destroyed or at the least it made impossible to so easily happen again anywhere. I believe in prayer as my part in the God matrix, with the knowledge and use of the proverb, “Pray to God, but row towards shore”. People need to start working on solutions that go beyond “protecting the second amendment” Let’s start protecting our children and not certain business pocket books. My brother (RIP) never needed an AR-hybrid to kill the game he ate. HE would have found it ludicrous.
