   Taking something someone did not say or believe and mocking it is not artful, realistic portrayal. It is spite. Likely misdirected anger towards one’s own party who had the opportunity to show a better way and strike a more conciliatory tone but blew it alienating many to such an extent that Trump appeared to them to be the better choice.

   I got it. Really, I do. Garry Trudeau hates Donald Trump. I’ve read him for years and knew he is on the left side of the political spectrum. Nevertheless, he was a mainstay because his humor was subtle and insightful whether I agreed with him or not. Somehow his hatred for Trump has moved Mr. Trudeau to pull out all restraints and resort to crude, childish mockery. Don’t know the man but I wonder if he is just getting old and bitter.
