It was said years ago in a comic strip that Garfield could not tell Jon why he didn’t like catching mice. I forget what one it was, but he tried to tell him by typing it out on a typewriter. If both Jon and Garfield have cell phones, why couldn’t Garfield just text Jon and tell him why he doesn’t like to chase mice?
Also, since Jon doesn’t seem to understand what Garfield is saying, they could text each other now on their cell phones and Garfield can tell Jon what he wants.
Yes. I agree with everyone. Odie should not have had a thought in this one. This breaks consistency. However, in Garfield and Friends, Odie’s barking sometimes sound like talking when he is with Garfield. Some words can be slightly heard.
