Although the shopper may see this as a cloying deal, I figure Nate is just trying to do what he can to get Daphne her present. After all, he is offering the bobblehead instead of begging for a discount like me might expect him to do.
Of course, I really hope that this arc doesn’t skip the ‘New Year’s Monopoly Game’, but I think it is still wholesome. There are a lot of reason why I find this arc nice, but as it is a comic, it is kind of stale.
It’s not as though I’m against the fact that Pierce is shaking up the comic a bit, it’s just that I prefer comics (and comics especially) to have a routine and sometimes even be trite. I just want the main idea that Nate is supposed to be egotistical, pre-mature sociopath to stick.
I know that Pierce is trying to make it seem like Nate is developing character, but he hasn’t aged so the idea of his personality changing is quite odd to me.
Anyways, the strip is a 6/10. Not Pierce’s best work but I’ve seen worse.
Merry Christmas one and all. Hope you are all having a fantastic holiday. To those atheist, I hope that you all enjoy your gifts. To those Christian, please celebrate our savior to the full.
I wish good cheer to you all and if you are having a bad Christmas – at least you’re not alone. Ofc it could be worse but think positive. One day you’ll get it.
