   Ahhhh, I wish I had been there! Mid-late 80’s was definitely a sweet spot for the band. Unfortunately, Bob and the Boys didn’t come through the ATL that often, which was a shame.

   Yeah, I wish Seger and the Winter Brothers would have played all night. Drew Abbott is one of the most underrated guitarists ever, especially on the slide. Please tell me they played Like A Rock in ‘87 either that or Sunspot Baby, possibly my favorite song on Night Moves. The Satellites first album was really good and then they couldn’t maintain. .38 Special was much more polished by the time you got to see them. They were basically a garage band in 1976 and only got the gig because of Ronnie VanZant.

   Had the pleasure(?) of seeing the most overhyped rock band ever as headliners at a stadium show in Atlanta in 1976. The show and the production were very good. The music left a LOT to be desired. I will give them props on marketing themselves; Gene Simmons is an absolute master. The other acts were Blue Oyster Cult (meh…) Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band touring on Night Moves and Edgar AND Johnny Winter, that didn’t happen very often. Opening act was a newer band from Jacksonville called .38 Special, whose lead singer was the brother of Skynyrd’s Ronnie VanZant. They were roundly booed off the stage after their third song.

   You might want to go clean off your shoes, Phil. You really stepped in it with that KISS comment. Probably should have changed the second “S” to something less offensive. Getting closer to the time that Luann spills ice cream on her shirt. At least the color of her ice cream matches her jacket…

    Similar situation with my sister. She set me up with one of her classmates and told me the young lady was “quite striking.” My sister wasn’t totally off base however, it did appear the “ugly stick” was deployed several times, resulting in said “strikings.” I still needle her about that to this day…
