Who is the “C.D.” the author is paying tribute to? It’s not the people behind the Pixar movie “Up”, which was my first thought. The initials are wrong for “Up”.
But the book is 30 years old now. Given how much the industry has changed in 30 years, I feel this book may be more like buying “How to Program Games on Your Commodore 64” to get a job at Google.
Read “Men Are Trouble” by James Patrick Kelly. Or, I suppose, “Y: The Last Man” but I didn’t like that one nearly as much—too long, didn’t do enough with the premise, gave up on it after a while.
