Reading: Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. I’d recommend skipping The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic, at least at first. The others, when his world becomes a bit more cohesive and he’s found his own voice instead of sending up other fantasy tropes, are better. If you like fantasy or science fiction, you might enjoy anything by Lois McMaster Bujold. She tells good stories.
A lot depends on the cat, but the ferals we’ve neutered have not decided to run away forever. Two we brought into the house for the recovery and they just never left, but were both affectionate and loving indoor cats after a surprisingly brief adjustment period.
Good luck with the implant. I had 3 done on the same day and was fine in a day or so (although my jaw ached from being open so long). Start planning new and exciting ways to eat soft foods for a couple of weeks, though.
We don’t do peanut butter in our house. Oddly, neither of us likes it at all, although we do like peanuts on their own (and the correct texture). We don’t even do peanut butter candy.
