   What stores? The magazine cannot be found in any store where I live…including a major book store. Can’t even find the Fall Preview issue anymore, which is the only issue I’m interested in. I stopped getting TV Guide when they stopped the local editions.

   Hmm. The walls in Rita’s office have nothing on them. Could it be that they are in transition from one decoration to the next (which I assume Rita has done weekly…or less)? Could it be Rita doesn’t have time to decorate the walls because of all the important work she had to do (—muffled snicker—)? Could it be the blank walls represent what’s actually going on in Rita’s mind? Or could it be that John and Scott didn’t have time to add anything else to the panel as publishing time was fast approaching?

   Gene Weingarten is a humorist who used to have a column in the Washington Post. He and his son Dan write the strip. Since neither could draw worth a……, David Clark was hired to illustrate.

   For those who don’t already know, TCM is running the 1930s “Believe It Or Not” theatrical shorts Saturday morning at approx. 8:10am eastern, hosted by Robert Ripley himself.

    That’s true. But if you look up the origin of the real Smokey (check Wikipedia), you’ll see that “The” was not part of his name. I’m guessing the songwriters had an extra beat in the song, and filled it with “The.”
