I, for one, found it hilarious and this kind of humor is one of the several reasons I read Lio. Also, these strips with political innuendo are frequent enough to be a mark of this comic. I don’t think Mark will stop doing them, so if their presence annoys you that much, maybe it’s time to stop reading Lio?
More than surprised, I am pleased to find someone that is not as blinded by their religion as many, many other people I’ve met who can´t even see what you are saying. But at the end, the Bible is just a book written by men with some beautiful and some terrible things, just as the Torah and the Quran. The problem comes when people believe those books to be the words of a god and use them to bring harm to other people because of their belief, either by acting like a zealot or simply by inaction (like not taking their kids to the doctor because it’s against the tenants of their religion).
“Funnier” still are the many people who only knew the Bible through Sunday sermons and, when deciding to read it, took them away from Christianity. You’ve always been told only one side of the story and you have decided to believe it as the only truth. Start listening to people who have suffered with religion and have found happier paths. You will be surprised.
If they’re worms, it should be mezcal, not Tequila.
