    The reason we stopped going is because libs like Wiley thought it was a waste of money. Despite all the sciencew we gained spin off products and technology. By the the money was being spent on earth. Employing union workers to build spacecraft and boosters computers space suits equipment and supplies. Not mention technicians engineers, construction workers maintenance people janitors clerical staff etc thnat NASA employed.I’d rather see government money put into endeavors like this than paying people not work. Think of the thousands more who would be employed now if we were going full tilt on trips to Mars and beyond.BTW maybe not oil but there are lot of other resource on the Moon Mars and the Asteroids we could go after if we had the will.
