Since I got married in 1975 we have moved 11 times. The last move was 2017. We are planning to move one more time, next spring when we leave eastern Oklahoma and return to Michigan

OK I won’t tell you that. But guest writer Eric Costello’s latest DT adventure started a few weeks ago and so far the story is advancing slower than molasses in February. One could say that this story line is Plodding Along at a Snail’s Pace. Do you suppose Mr Costello is being paid by the number of panels this story takes? Kind of like the old pulp magazines of the ’30s that paid writers by the word?

OOPS, should have written 100% right not 11%

Last Monday Jon Stewart comments were 11% right. The Ds always always obey decisions by whoever the authority might be[like Bidens folding when he got an adverse opinion by the Parliamentarian, never looking for loopholes] or ignoring an adverse ruling by SRCOTUS trumpers[aka Rs] are busy looking for and exploiting every loophole in every law, or simply ignore whatever they don’t like (as trump did previously when he simply ignored the Foreign Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. On behalf of members of Congress CAC filed suit in 2018 asking the Federal Courts to compel trump to comply with the Constitution. In Feb 2020 the D.C. Circuit ordered that the District Courts Sept 2018 order on standing be reversed and the case be remanded with instructions to dismiss the complaint. CAC filed a petition for a writ of certiorari, asking the Supreme Court to review the decision and explaining how that decision conflicted with with the SC precedents on legislator standing. In Oct 2020 the Roberts Court denied the petition)Thus the Roberts Court established a new precedent: That a president could ignore a clause in the Constitution and no one had standing to sue in Federal Court to compel the President to follow the Constitution. So Biden and the Democrats could, if they wanted, do something to prevent trump becoming President[like trumps Jan 2021 attempted coup]because it would be an official presidential act. But because the Democrats are totally conditioned to obey authority, they will continue to do nothing

for whatever reason it seems that 20th century empires don’t bother to learn the history of areas they invade. The saying Afghanistan is a geopolitical quicksand for empires originated with the first Anglo-Afghan war in 1842 where a British and Indian army wasd massacred by Afghans in the Hindu Kush along with 12,000 civilians.

The USSR invaded Afghanistan in 1979 and left with their tail between their legs in Feb. 1989, the USSR collapsed in Dec 1991, meaning aprox. 2.5 years between their withdrawal from Afghanistan and the collapse of the entire Soviet empire.

The US and NATO invaded Afghanistan in on 7 Oct 2001. In Feb 2020 trump and the Taliban signed the Doha agreement for US/NATO to leave Afghanistan within 14 months. trump released 5,000 Taliban POWs as part of that agreement. The Taliban never made an agreement with the puppet Afghan Govt and as US/NATO troops withdrew they increased their attacks on the [puppet] Afghan troops. As NATO/US neared their final withdrawal in Aug 2021 the Taliban increased their attacks on the [puppet]Afghan troops to the point they took off their uniforms and abandoned all the equipment the US/NATO had given them over the past 20 years. The US withdrawal culminated in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack on Aug 26, 2021 which killed 13 US Military, while wounding 45 and killing 170 Afghan civilians. The withdrawal concluded on Aug 30 when the last US military aircraft left Kabul Airport.[I wonder why the way the US abandoned Afghanistan reminds me so much of the way we abandoned our Vietnamese allies in 1975] Doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of difference between the way the USSR left Afghanistan and the way we did does there? Will Afghanistan be a harbinger for the fall of the US empire as it seemed to be for the USSR empire?
