At my cousins wedding reception (many years ago now) the DJ played modern dance songs and there were a few younger people out dancing. After a while he played a waltz and the dance floor was crowded with people of all ages. They stayed on the floor waiting for another waltz but the DJ went back to modern and 99% went back to their seats. Not sure if that one waltz song was all he had, or if he really disliked them, but that was all he played. He never repeated the song. Talk about not playing to your audience.
Has he not been home since he got married, had a kid and got divorced? This reads like this is the first time he’s seen his old room since he left home.
The Bible verse about “spare the rod” is Proverbs 13:24, which states, “Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them”. This verse is the origin of the English phrase “spare the rod, spoil the child”, which is often used to defend corporal punishment. However, the verse is not meant to justify abusive discipline, but rather to endorse loving discipline based on godly principles.
I saw some Valentine"s Day candy and decorations at Walmart just last week. Seriously.
