Up in the dark just north of the Park silence no lark; the sound of laughter it’s involutary I hafter. GoComics starts my day gets my mind to play chasing the blues from reading the news. VW

My favorite cartoon today. And, many good comments.

State governments love to give away taxes that cities and counties rely upon. Federal government gave away state and likely local tax base to make this happen. A “cheap” gift. More important is the fact that automation creates fewer jobs than it displaces, so there are simply not enough jobs. Manufacturing jobs peaked in the US, and a few years earlier in China — if I am correctly informed — so we have to find new ways of providing income. Hard to fathom, but that is the situation we face.

Excellent cartoon, Morin, but the Govt label should read GOP.

Our country has taken a few goose steps to the right, and the Democratic party was corrupted by its focus on money. Sorensen’s cartoon depicts the excuses I am hearing for ignoring the causes of our awful future. Thanks to her.

Accurate cartoon, Mr. Danziger. Enjoyed your comment, JDave48, convincing. Our daughter correctly called the campaign as a reality show. The recent column by Bill Moyer and Michael Winship dates the problem back to the transition of debate management from I think it was League of Women Voters to the media. The media work for US$, not democracy.

Terrific! Started my day with a big laugh. I agree: Warren for President.

Thanks for this cartoon. It says exactly what I am feeling. Please, can we vote now?

Thanks for the great cartoon, Signe. Wish I could shove it under Larry Wilmore’s nose. His panel (22 Jun) argued that legislation cannot control guns because the guns are needed by poor people who are hungry and scared. Their argument was not for a militia protecting citizens from its own government; it was for the power to “take” and “control.” Someone please explain all this.

Excellent, on every topic. Or, does this merely feed my biases? The hypertube was on my mind coming down I-25 yesterday in NC. The paving was so rough we could not drive the speed limit. I can think up better uses for the tube money.

Excellent. McCrory gives new meaning to “concealed carry.”
